Television - Brief one
My television programme will be a documentary-based series on mental health, it will be presented on ITV2. I will base several episodes on different mental health illnesses e.g. depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar and PTSD. I will structure my episodes as an introduction into the mental health and quick overview of what it is and the symptoms. Then, I will interview a person that has been affected by this mental illness and will ask them questions about their triggers, day to day struggles with this illness etc. Lastly, I will have a psychiatrist explain and speak about this mental illness and how it can affect their life’s etc. The episodes will always end with mental health helplines such as; ChildLine, Samaritans and HopeLineUK.
I want to educate my target audience of 18-34-year olds because the 18-34-year olds sometimes don’t understand the new generation as it was a different generation to them, and the world is evolving rapidly. The younger generation face so many battles they must face daily with new worries and feelings. This series will allow others to explore the mind of their younger brothers and sisters for example, so they can get a feel or ease of how they feel or cope with their illness.
I will use a range of different technical codes such as; lighting, editing, camerawork and audio. I will use non-diegetic and diegetic sounds, light colours and lighting effects, camera angles and camera shots and lastly I will use cuts and transitions to create effect for my audience.
